City Clerk

Responsibilities
The City Clerk performs a variety of services for the residents of the City of Rochester, including:
  • Administering local, State, and Federal elections
  • Issuing pet licenses, dog park permits, business licenses, and business registration
  • Acting as liaison for Mount Avon Cemetery:
    • Coordinating burials
    • Recording lot sales, marker installations, and burials
Public Information
The City Clerk's Office is a public information center where records management is an essential and major role of the Clerk. The Clerk also serves as the Freedom of Information Act Coordinator.

The City Clerk does not maintain birth or death records. Birth records may be obtained from Crittenton Hospital, and death records may be obtained from the City of Rochester Hills Clerk's Office or Oakland County Clerk's Office.
