[ARCHIVED] Hydrant Flushing Week of October 14th

Fire Hydrant

The Water and Fire Departments will be performing the annual hydrant flushing during the week of October 14th. GLWA water users will have the hydrants in their area flushed on Tuesday, the 15th and Wednesday, the 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Additional flushing may occur on Thursday, the 17th on an as needed basis.

Residential areas served by the municipal well will have their hydrants flushed on Wednesday, October 16th, from 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

It is recommended that residents avoid water use during the flushing period. After flushing activities are complete, your water may be temporarily discolored. If discoloration occurs, you may want to flush your own water service piping. We suggest flushing from a faucet or valbe before the water enters your water softener, such as from an outside hose bib.
