[ARCHIVED] Peaceful Protests scheduled for Downtown Rochester

The Police Department is aware and has been working with various organizers in preparation for two (2) peaceful protests that are schedule to occur tomorrow, June 4th.

The Police Department is aware and has been working with various organizers in preparation for two (2) peaceful protests that are schedule to occur tomorrow, June 4th. The first protest will start in the Municipal Park at 2:30 p.m. The second will start at Rochester High School at 4:00 p.m. This group will leave the high school and walk down University toward downtown. They will meet with the park group at Pine Street and continue their peaceful protest. The groups will walk on Main street to West Fourth to Walnut and back to University. The group will then return to Rochester High School. The Rochester Police Department and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are committed to participate and provide the necessary assistance to make sure these events are safe for all who attend and those who travel in and around downtown. 

There will be some traffic detours starting after 4:00 p.m. on both University and Main Street. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated.
