[ARCHIVED] Peaceful Protests scheduled for Downtown Rochester

The Police Department is aware and has been working with various organizers in preparation for the peaceful protest that is schedule to occur tomorrow, June 6th.

A peaceful protest march is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) morning, June 6th, starting at 10:00 a.m. This group will be leaving the area of University and Old Towne walking west to Main Street. The peaceful protesters will then be going south on Main to Third Street. They will turn west to Walnut and head north to University. They will then go south on Pine to the area in front of the police station. The marchers will hold at the station for a period of time and then head back to University to go back to Old Towne near the library. There will be police officers in the area to assist with traffic to make this event as smooth and safe as possible. Please expect traffic hold ups in the area of Main and University and University and Pine starting at 10:00 a.m. These are very fluid events and it is difficult to determine how long each segment of the march will take. We are very thankful for the cooperation from every participant who marched on Thursday. There were no incidents or problems at all.
