About the Board
The Rochester Planning Commission consists of nine members, six of whom shall be representative of different professions or occupations. The latter six members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by the City Council for three-year terms. Three members are ex-officio (the Mayor, an administrative officer of the City selected by the Mayor, and one Councilmember selected by the Council).
The powers and duties of the Planning Commission are provided by Act Number 285 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan for the year 1931, as amended, and the Rules of Procedures adopted by the Planning Commission.
