The City of Rochester is looking to complete the final phase of the Butterfly Garden project within our Municipal Park adjacent to Paint Creek. We plan on adding a Stone wall enclosed lookout over the Creek that will feature a Corten Steel pergola arching over the area that will match our recently installed swing nearby and our Gnomon at the Sundial. This space will add additional seating for viewing the Creek as well as the adjacent Butterfly Garden. We will also add an ADA compliant concrete walkway from the adjacent parking lot to the east which will formally connect to the Park entrance pathway. We will also be adding additional native trees to frame the lookout boundary.
We want to offer the Community, who have graciously supported the Sundial and Butterfly Garden projects through their donations, a chance to be a part of this final phase of the project!
The Butterfly Garden has been a roaring success as it has provided so many with a chance to sit quietly and contemplate life while providing our pollinators with a place to do what they do best!
